Job Description

The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing professional front-desk support in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role ensures efficient office operations by managing scheduling, patient intake, and administrative tasks while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients, verify personal and insurance information, and maintain accurate records
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct communications to appropriate staff
  • Collect co-pays, process payments, and maintain billing documentation
  • Prepare and organize patient charts, forms, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA
  • Coordinate with providers, medical assistants, and other staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Handle referrals, authorizations, and insurance verification as needed
  • Maintain clean and organized front office area

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (medical office certification preferred)
  • 1+ year of medical reception or healthcare administrative experience
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and basic billing processes
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy clinical environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages common in Arcadia)
  • Knowledge of insurance plans, referrals, and authorizations
  • Experience with scheduling systems and patient coordination
